Indigenous Technical Knowledge: Analysis, Implications and Issues

This review of the discussions a workshop analyses Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK), examines its potential for rural development, and outlines implications issues. ITK is compared with institutionally organised science technology. It can be seen in terms stock process: rich but underutilised knowledge; processes through which knowledge generated, assimilated, transmitted. Implications include use new methods eliciting ITK, changes values reward systems professionals officials concerned need further research analysis.
